We are delighted to announce that Catherine Frances, Director General, Local Government and Public Services, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government will be speaking at the Forum on Thursday 5th December.
The MJ Future Forum North: the impact of the new Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, the Budget, Brexit and the next financial settlement on local government in the North
The Future Forum is an invitation-only annual 24-hour seminar on key issues affecting local authorities and the public sector in the North of England.
The MJ Future Forum North takes place at The Midland Hotel, Manchester December 5/6 at a time of economic and political turbulence even more pronounced than the past year. A new Prime Minister in Boris Johnson and new Chancellor Sajid Javid will preside over their first Budget in late autumn, Brexit is scheduled to occur by October 31 (or will it?) and the one-year Spending Round will be underway from 2020.
The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Robert Jenrick, will also be grappling with the forthcoming financial settlement. It is too much to hope that the long-awaited Green Paper on social care will surface but nonetheless the burden of adult and children’s social care cannot be ignored. Join leading chief executives from the North West, North East and Yorkshire & Humberside as well as neighbouring authorities for our popular 24-hour event to find out how these major changes will affect them.
This is also a great opportunity for you to network with your fellow chief executives to find out how they are tackling the agenda from the new government.
"The Future Forum can best be described as 24 hours of high value investment; an opportunity to learn, challenge and network."
Chief Executive, South Kesteven DC
